Drawing a coloured Rectangle?

I've looked through the allegro online manual and all of them don't seem to give a function on how to draw a basic rectangle with adjustable size. Can the bliter do that? It should right? It's a basic function.

I am thinking of just making 2 bitmap's cover one another to have this effect.

I was looking under here on the side menu the whole time..
