I really like that "3d" look of the ground (other than that, the graphics aren't too great, but I guess I can't really down-rate you for that because I'm not much of an artist either). The gameplay is solid, but I found it to be way too easy, thus not as fun as it could have been. I just held down Right and Space, and easily beat every level. As Næssén said, it would be a lot better with obstacles, or even some enemies running around here or there.

EDIT-- I'm tired... Earlier, and it was quoted, I said 'Left', but I meant 'Right'.

Oh... you're right... Just beat the game doing that.

I have to complain about the spam at the end of the program using IE instead of Firefox, though.

That was my extra bit of evilness. I have already removed it from the source on my machine for all future versions. The Windows binary currently represents the exact SH version, but I will replace it .... eventually.

I loved Sonic (especially the first game) and your entry captures the gameplay of the SEGA games in a very accurate way.
I liked the dialog scenes and the hog sprites are also quite neat and well animated.
Good job

Hi,

The concept has potential, but I found there was not much depth to the gameplay. All I seemed to be doing was collecting food. As others have said, some obstacles and hazards would make a good addition. I do like the pseudo-3d effect of the ground.

If you hold down a key too long while reading the dialog, you end up whizzing through the dialog. Also, if holding down the right arrow when you reach the end of level, you whizz through the dialog. The game should at least wait until the right key has been released before the first screen of post-game dialog is advanced to the next screen. One way of acomplishing this is instead of using the keyboard-buffer, check to see if a key is pressed by checking to see if it was not pressed the previous time the key-press was checked.

Oh, and by the way, the binary package should include readme.txt

AE.
