“Electronics Tech for the Navy. Current job is administration & maintenance (as in fault isolation & repair) of the machinery control system for my ship. (ATM network & switches [OC3, OC12], blown fiber optic plant, PLCs, I/O drops, displays and servers.) Prior to this I was a maintenance tech for radio transmitters, receivers, multiplexers and a token ring fiber net among many other things. Been programming for around 11 years. Wrote my first virus at age 13, written in SysRPL for the HP48s calculator. Introduced to Linux at age 14 and have been using it steady ever since. Go Slackware!!!

Haven't even tried to write anything in Allegro yet. It looks interesting, though somewhat high level. I guess I like to re-invent the wheel and write all the support code for gfx, sound &etc. Using a critical eye, you could say, this is like playing with legos. You can easily build a concept and, if it's worth it, rewrite it from scratch with much more efficient code. When I have more free time, I'll give it a shot.”
