IOTD: Decadence

This is the scene editor for the game i am making in Allegro which will bring you a little idea about it. In this shot you can see the first level, an asylum where you must escape. The story of this game is like "Top Secret", a normal story with absurd complements .

You break the perspective seriously with those spikes on the ground. Now that plant and cell with the nutcase look just like wall paintings. - Inphernic

I find a good trick to make flat objects appear to have depth is to do a wand select (in gimp or photoshop) and then do a diagonal linear blend in that area from a light to dark color. Do this in each "cell" of the 2D object and you'll get a 3D-type shading effect. - Mike Farrell
