IOTD: Mega Monkey Mayhem

This image consists of 4 screenshots from my latest game, Mega Monkey Mayhem. It was developed with me as the team lead and the excellent work of 13 other developers. The game is programmed using DirectX 8.1. It uses vertex shaders to do the toon shading and the skeletal animation of the characters. The 2D art was developed by others with Photoshop, the models in Maya, and the original music and sound effects were made by 3 others. I was 1 of 4 programmers on the project.

  • Upper Left: The opening screen showing the in-game GUI system.
  • Upper Right: Two player match on battlegrounds. The left player is currently stunned from being hit on the head with a bomb and stars are circling his head.
  • Lower Left: Four player mega melee in Cargo Bay. The Cargo Bay map is split into 4 sections with teleporters to travel between them. The game supports up to 4 players via keyboard and 1-4 joysticks.
  • Lower Right: The level editor in action. The level editor was made in C# (.NET).
