IOTD: Chris Barry's Printed Media Demo
Chris Barry's Printed Media Demo, by 23yrold3yrold
This is back from my Macintosh multimedia course days. When we graduated, we had to make a video demo and a printed demo for our porfolio. This is the latter. I'll run it down for you (even though it's summarized in the lower-right corner ) Megaman X: A vector drawing done in Freehand. You can't really see the vector-ish-ness at this res though. I have a black and white printout of it and the original I used at a bigger scale if anyone cares to see it. I also made another image (the Street Fighter III logo) in the same way, but I think I lost the file before I could add it to this. I still have the black and white though, comparing the original to mine. The Hulk: This is actually a grid drawing I made in hgih school art class You probably recognize the image; anyway, while it's hand drawn, it was colored in Photoshop. The letters were made completely in PS. Game Stamps: I dunno about you, but I rather like the design on these things. They're a combination of raster images (subject, background) from Photoshop, and vector images (text, border, little arc in the upper-left) done in Freehand. Optimus Prime: Would it surprise anyone to find out I rendered an animation of this guy driving down the road for my video media? No, I didn't think so. The textures are easy to make when you own the toy and the school has a flatbed scanner . Ditto for the cab's bump map, which is clearly visible on the cab's side especially. Done using Specular Infini-D, which I recall fondly since I still haven't found any 3D modeler/renderer quite so easy to use. 'Bout it for now, I guess ... The Gallery | Add your own image! |
