Yes, so true. At least we can have something rather than nothing at all. I tend to use a GUID for my zip passwords.

In 99% of cases, password protecting your stuff will only stop people who love your game from playing around with it with mods/sprite ripping and using them in emotes/etc.

Nobody who is an experienced ripper is going to have any problem. You can even rip sprites straight from textures in memory.

You're much better off protecting the content of your game from piracy by using standard things like Steam. You want to ensure you get paid, you don't want to make it harder for fans to be fans.
