You just watch, these huge expenditures to his buddies will be his excuse to kill the stimulus checks (for Americans, the rest is still on).

They all watch too much MSNBC... they get ideas.

You really didn't leave people with much of an option. :-/ The last guy was calling in military forces against lawful American citizens. >:( If that's what you call "conservative" then you and I have different definitions. That's the very definition of too much government. That's the very thing we're afraid of. How did the entire GOP miss it exactly?! Obviously they didn't. Sounds like the GOvernment Party in 2021. Do as I say or else. >:( Welcome to America.

What? I missed that. But we still have the 15,000 troops inside the fence at the Capitol building to prevent people from ousting the illegal potato.

He's probably referring to stuff like this: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/video/2020/jul/31/a-beehive-of-terrorists-donald-trump-threatens-to-deploy-national-guard-in-portland-video

Basically, the 'peaceful' riots protests we saw during the summer. You know, the ones where courthouses, businesses and cars were torched? ;D

Eventually, people get tired of being murdered for the color of their skin and they fight back. I don't blame them. But attacking the Capitol, with Senators in the chambers fearing for their lives, yeah, that's bad. They were trying to overthrow the government.

:-*

No buyer's remorse so far.

And Biden's strike, was a tit-for-tat retaliation to keep them from attacking our troops again. Read more than your right wing articles once in a while.

No buyer's remorse yet.

EDIT
Also, if you're going to bring up the protests over the summer, some were actually fueled by white supremacy groups trying to make it look bad for the protesters. Some of the protesters were filmed trying to stop the vandalism. They didn't want their cities burned down, they wanted the cops to stop murdering them.

Also, many white supremacy groups have been indicted by the FBI and labeled domestic terrorist groups.

Also, the protesters wore masks, which right wing groups protested because it violated their freedom to protect people from a deadly virus that has killed half a million people in the US now. 2021-02-28

Nope, still none.

And vaccines are actually being distributed now finally, albeit much too slowly.

And, none.

I'm a single issue voter. I voted for Biden so I wouldn't be denied health care or other services for being transgender. ;D He rolled back that back day one so now I don't care about his administration.

Not disappointed so far. 8-)

I guess it's kind of tricky. On one hand, I understand what Biden is saying "Our military base was attacked and our people died. We need to stop that from happening again"

But I do see Chris's point "Well why the fudge do we have a base over 10,000 km away anyways." (At least I think that his point?)

I guess it's probably impossible (or not feasible) for the United States to do a global recall and move all military assets back to American territories. Leave the rest of the world to police itself. I guess the danger in doing so is the power vacuum such an action would create. Surely China would not hesitate to move their own assets in...

I've been desperate to join in with this thread. For lack of anything else to say :

This is what I remember seeing. :P Right-wing white supremacist showing up to destroy property to blame it on black people. ::) Essentially the fucking GOP. :P

Append:

Interesting. Allegedly he's a member of the Hell's Angels, and affiliated with the Aryan Cowboy Brotherhood (a neo-Nazi prison gang, ;D). Great company that the GOP keeps. >:(

Indeed that is disgusting and that guy needs to be locked up for a long time.

However, that doesn't really address Arthur Kalliokoski's question of when 'The last guy was calling in military forces against lawful American citizens'

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/01/us/politics/trump-st-johns-church-bible.html

Anybody else remember Trump instructing the police and National Guard to fire tear gas at peaceful protesters to pose with the Bible in front of a church? ::) The National Guard response is generally using military force against peaceful protesters. If the police were concerned about preventing violence without interfering with the protests they would walk AMONG the protesters. And you'd see a lot less violence that way. They might also catch the people responsible for the violence and destruction of property instead of twisting it in with the protesters.

I do recall Trump threatening to bring in the National Guard to end the riots, but I think that is generally what happens when rioting reaches a tipping point where police can no longer contain things.

The article you posted does not explicitly mention Trump ordering the national guard (or police) to tear gas protesters. The closest it comes to is saying he delivered on his promise 'to send the military to states where governors could not bring rioting under control'.

That being said, it's not a stretch to imagine Trump ordering teargas...

I should have used a more reputable source:

https://www.reuters.com/news/picture/protesters-cleared-by-tear-gas-and-rubbe-idUSRTS3A3OO

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-minneapolis-police-trump-idUSKBN23A3C6

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-minneapolis-police-protests-church-idUSKBN23A27W

It's too bad there wasn't any law and order left when Republicans decided to attempt a coup. :P How convenient it picks and chooses.

Samuel Henderson

Neither of those last 2 articles state anything close to Trump ordering the crowd be teargassed. In fact, the 2nd article you posted claims Trump didn't ask for them to be removed, in fact it even goes as far as saying Trump didn't even know there were protesters nearby (a fact I find very hard to believe)

The riot that happened at the capitol disgraceful, the people involved need to persecuted to the full extent of the law. The riots that happened during the past year(s) are also deplorable and the people who damaged private and public property also need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

I really don't see what is so complicated about that?

The peaceful protesters and the rioters are separate, albeit overlapping groups (originally I said distinct groups, but in reality they likely have some overlap; group think tends to make people lose sight of what's right). I agree, it's not at all complicated, but conservatives seem unwilling to admit that their tree was poisoned. They'll all go down with the ship I guess.

Protesters have nothing to gain by damaging property. Their only chance of being taken seriously is to remain peaceful and let their voice be their strength. Of course, their opponents know this, and so they are coordinating attacks on protest sites in order to smear the campaign.

It's deplorable that people need this explained to them. Like you said, it's unlikely that Trump's statement that he had no idea there were even protesters there was true. Like most of what Trump says. It's all politics. Of course he's going to avoid taking ownership of it, and none of his staff are going to rat him out either unless there's a big enough payday in exchange. So of course he gets to get away with claiming ignorance, but you also didn't see the White House getting to the bottom of who's fuck up it was. Clearly it wasn't a fuck up.

Except that it was unconstitutional. :P And it was everything that we're afraid of from government. That conservatives aren't outraged at it shows that evil is only discouraged when the other guys are doing it. Which is also deplorable.

There really is nothing complicated about this. Trump was a terrible president. And while Biden is surely nothing revolutionary, I think that most people would agree that Trump didn't really accomplish anything revolutionary either. He just demonstrated that conservative Americans are still largely racist losers. :D

Append:

It's fascinating how Christians are coming out of the woodwork to defend Trump. A Christian only in politics. Rarely in church. His porn star mistresses and rape victims will attest that he is not concerned with God. :P

You would think that a man of such questionable character posing with your holy book like it was a prop for public relations reasons would be outrageous. It really speaks towards the corrupt politics in religion as well.

Speaking of religion & the media, it certainly looks like Jesus will save us from, err, someone with a very interesting choice of lighting. It's almost like a mid 20th century dictator, or something.

Speaking of a "stolen election"...

Quote:

Michelle Queen does not consider herself part of QAnon, but she does believe some of its most outlandish conspiracies – including that Satan-worshipping elites in a secret pedophile cabal are killing babies and drinking their blood.

And

Quote:

According to the Ipsos poll, more than 40% of Americans believed some of the most virulent and far-fetched disinformation — either the baseless claim that the election was rigged, that a Satan-worshiping child sex ring is trying to control our politics and media, or that Antifa activists were responsible for the Capitol riots.

:-/

If the alternative to Biden is this, well... sorry, not sorry.
