Super Hyper Coronavirus-kun! (≧▽≦)

A couple of positive side-effects of coronavirus:

- Fuel prices. A month ago, our price for 91 octane fuel at my work was $2.30 a litre, and now it's down to $1.92

- We've closed the public toilet at work, so now there's one less thing to clean at the end of the night.

I believe there was going to be a fall in prices anyway. I think something was going on unrelated to the coronavirus. The virus helped though.

Time will tell. I've lived long enough to see this sort of thing many times now, and this isn't even close to the worst we have seen. Just a lot of fear mongering.

~475 people died from it in Italy yesterday, I believe.

Italy has passed China in victims recently. The National Guard has been activated here, soon we will have armed guards enforcing quarantines.

500 people sounds large. I heard they are banning groups of more than 50 people.

Was everybody before this pandemic just living in filth?

They were living roll to roll, like their paycheque.

Italy had a large population of Chinese workers coming and going from Italy due to factories that had relocated to Italy and an agreement with China to have Chinese workers able to come and go to work in them (which defeats the whole purpose of having the factory in your nation). Ironically, just before this broke out, Italy had this hug a Chinese person thing going. So it's not surprising.

Again, I have seen this shit many times before with far more deaths. SARS, H1N1, H1N5, the swine flu (under Obama). This is fear mongering by the left.

There were 10000 people that died of the flu from Feb 3rd to March 6th (just do a quick search for "flu deaths 2020" to find out for yourself).

Nitehackr, if you weren't dangerous to other people's health I would fucking ignore you, but I can't because you are spreading false ideas.

In 3 months, the virus spread from China to the rest of the world. Italy's latest daily death toll was 465, and the disease is still spreading happily. That makes 13,950 people dead in a month. The US has 5x the population of italy. A 2% (low estimate due to non-reporting and averaging among the entire population) death rate in the US is 6 million people. Another holocaust. I'm not saying the flu can't be deadly, but this is far more contagious than the flu. It spreads more easily than the flu. There are vaccines against the flu. There are none against Covid-19. This is NOT fear mongering, and by saying so, you are greatly understimating the world wide impact this virus will have. So either start posting facts that aren't misleading and shape up, or shut up. Because you clearly don't know what you're talking about.

EDIT
Daily death toll from Italy - 627 (x30 = 18810 per month) (03/20/2020)

That is self-contradicting, if there is non-reporting (and non-testing), then the death rate is lower than 2% (assuming people aren't dying without being noticed). But that is good and bad...

Less deadly is good in that fewer people who get the disease will die, but bad in that more people will get the disease because fewer people will know they had it... Once an unaware infected person visits a nursing home, you'll have 30% of them dead in a few weeks...

Who cares which President any of these diseases are under? Even the best President couldn't have prevented this from entering the USA. It's not Trump's fault.

The only issue I have with Trump and the Republicans this time around is that they ignored the severity of the issue and misled the public. This isn't a "left" problem. Do you realize our Republican President and many Republican mayors and governors have declared states of emergency? If it's a hoax / fake news, then DO NOTHING. Then nothing bad will happen, no massive amounts of people will die, and you'll expose the leftist communities socialists for the evil people they are.

Oh wait. The Republicans are finally coming around to realize they were wrong and this wasn't some worldwide leftist movement to oust our President. ::) ::) ::)

In other news, my inbox is full of emails from companies which are (from what I can work out) using the pandemic to opportunistically spam. ::)

What do you know, there could be a silver lining to this virus yet!

I hope they do that here. The Warrant of Fitness on my car is out by three weeks (I need new engine stays to get one and they're coming over from Europe).

ON another note, I can't go to work because I have a cold. The extra time off is nice, but I really like getting paid, especially after just having had five weeks off.

I have two car registration to renew but it's closed and extended indefinitely... So I'll keep my money.

Also I have nothing to spend my money on, so I'll come out of this ordeal with extra pocket cash.

Wondering whether now would be a good time to get into the stock market.

Literally last night a guy who worked at Taco bell told me "They're not arresting anyone for anything below felony levels [misdemeanor], I'm gonna do steal some shit from Wal-Mart".

I was like "Can... I just have my tacos?" [Like... I don't even KNOW you! Why are you telling me this?!]

Supposedly they won't arrest you for misdemeanors because they don't want to risk people in jail spreading the virus. HOWEVER, I think this guy was so stupid he didn't realize "not going to jail" doesn't mean you can't get arrested, cited with a court date, and let back out. They're not like "oh shit, that TV he's stealing is under $2000, we can't touch him Bill!" Bill: "Those damn kids figured out our system!"

Well, knowing what I know now, I would have got into the toilet paper industry, but then again, everyone has so much of it, that sales will drop in coming months, so probably best not to buy into it.

The video game industry and hand sanitizer though... anything to do with staying at home and away from others, maybe invest in. ;)

Also I have nothing to spend my money on, so I'll come out of this ordeal with extra pocket cash.

It's always best to stash some money away for the next time something like this happens. Or spend it on preparing for such emergencies in the future.

In other news, I seen this on Facebook today and I just about died laughing...
