I've made a space shooter! Or at least a demo of a space shooter. (which perhaps foolishly implies it'll ever go beyond this. ) Feast your eyes: {"name":"611959","src":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/4\/5\/45c4833580f6fc8453234d94bbda9322.png","w":1920,"h":1080,"tn":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/4\/5\/45c4833580f6fc8453234d94bbda9322"} I've been incredibly fortunate to have been on a sabbatical over the past few months to have a proper stab at making a game, and this thing is the result. I reckon I'll be heading back into employment soon though, so will finish it off when I get a moment. Once I've finally conquered the cross-platform mountain, I'll put a demo up for download. ______________________________________________________ |

Yep, C and Allegro - albeit with some stuff that compiles to C. ______________________________________________________ |

What's your target resolution? The sprites have jaggies, so I'm assuming you're upscaling? My Website! | EAGLE GUI Library Demos | My Deviant Art Gallery | Spiraloid Preview | A4 FontMaker | Skyline! Yeah, it's fixed at 384x216. I was aiming for something like the olskool 320x200, but that scales up in 16:9 without letterboxing. (incidentally, it's actually running at 1920x1080 in the screenshots) ______________________________________________________ |

What are your typical sprite dimensions? Are you upscaling the sprites, or just a buffer? My Website! | EAGLE GUI Library Demos | My Deviant Art Gallery | Spiraloid Preview | A4 FontMaker | Skyline! Most of them are pretty tiny, eg. the player's ship is 20x20. It's all drawn to a buffer then scaled up without nice interpolation, so yeah, you'll never get anything 'inbetween pixels'. ______________________________________________________ |
