What kinds of joysticks do you guys have that you prefer to play with? You guys have the XBox Bluetooth one? (e.g. like this)

Anybody can answer but I'm specifically targeting the EasterHack fam.

Xbox 360 is the only controller I use. It's basically perfect except for not having lithium-ion batteries.

Sweet. My game originally had only keyboard support, but I just put in an input abstraction layer and added joystick support.

Edit: Oh man, I didn't realize the axis signaling on the XBox controllers were all borked. The left stick and the D-Pad are both signaling stick 0, while the right stick is toggling between signaling stick 0 and 1. Is this normal? I'm using 5.2.2.

I mean it's the only joystick I use if it's a joystick game.

It's pretty much "the best" classic "I play to win" kind of controller. With the PS3/PS4 being something similar. But I think "shape" based buttons is stupid. I'm pretty sure my brain can read colors faster than recognize a geometric shape. /silly subjective rant

But whatever. PS3/4 controllers are still good.

I don't know anyone who games with "controllers" other than Xbox 360, PS3/4, or Steam controllers. And even then, the last category is rare.

I see your crappy 1 button joystick, and I'll raise you an R/C car controller.

LennyLen, that made me burst out laughing. :) I still get sore tendons just looking at that pic! I used to refer to those joysticks as "knucklebusters" ;)

This is the one I have...

I very rarely use it though (you can see the dust collecting on it). I prefer a keyboard + mouse where possible and only bought that so I could test it when programming my game.

Oh man, I didn't realize the axis signaling on the XBox controllers were all borked.

I noticed that as well. But I don't know much about joysticks so I figured it was normal? <shrug>
