Heh, well I'm making many stupid mistakes along the way and I keep reading the reference manual all the time so it's not like I know all the memory addresses and commands from the top of my head. PETSCII paint 0.3, first public release ^^ ( direct link to download ) {"name":"604778","src":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/7\/3\/7382d3debbfa979ba60ab7cd513e43e3.png","w":384,"h":272,"tn":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/7\/3\/7382d3debbfa979ba60ab7cd513e43e3"}{"name":"604777","src":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/4\/4\/44e03e7adfa890845fb6eecd4ad17a6a.png","w":768,"h":544,"tn":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/4\/4\/44e03e7adfa890845fb6eecd4ad17a6a"} --- 0xDB | @dennisbusch_de --- |

There was a moment in one of the process videos where it tried to overwrite "DOWN" with "UP", and the result was "UPWN". I thought that was fantastic. Hence the above post. But it is awesome to see an old BASIC system in use again -- |

Not really a doodle, but as I mentioned in another thread where I posted it, I can't see how this face EVER came to represent 'forever alone', so I had to do something about it and put it where it belongs. {"name":"potato.png","src":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/d\/7\/d7d41fcd63692f7f8b26babd59366ebd.png","w":480,"h":460,"tn":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/d\/7\/d7d41fcd63692f7f8b26babd59366ebd"} -- |

And here is my contribution to the thread. By practicing I somewhat gained some few skills, but only a few. I'll continue to practice as long as I haven't finished the doodle book I bough. Mind what, I bough it because of that thread. It's a cheap little white paper book of 180 page, the drawing area does not exceed 20*14 cm. Here we go: {"name":"604803","src":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/9\/b\/9bc7c4c8bdfabe2adf5ec473058f36d7.jpg","w":1365,"h":2048,"tn":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/9\/b\/9bc7c4c8bdfabe2adf5ec473058f36d7"}{"name":"604804","src":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/7\/1\/717db25af09f1919a367f37336e8676f.jpg","w":1365,"h":2048,"tn":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/7\/1\/717db25af09f1919a367f37336e8676f"} "Code is like shit - it only smells if it is not yours" |

This thread makes me want to buy a graphics tablet. I only read most of the first page though. After that I just skimmed the art. I wish I could draw half as well as some of the people here, and I imagine with enough practice I could, but there is no time for that! I can't even find time and energy to write code, let alone learn music or graphic art. -- acc.js | al4anim - Allegro 4 Animation library | Allegro 5 VS/NuGet Guide | Allegro.cc Mockup | Allegro.cc <code> Tag | Allegro 4 Timer Example (w/ Semaphores) | Allegro 5 "Winpkg" (MSVC readme) | Bambot | Blog | C++ STL Container Flowchart | Castopulence Software | Check Return Values | Derail? | Is This A Discussion? I haven't made any recent doodles myself, but I'd just like to say that I'm really impressed with the stuff I've seen here. You guys should seriously consider getting jobs as concept-artists in the games or film industry (or elsewhere). You just need to build up a portfolio of sketches. One thing you could try is a concept-drawing of a battle taking place, as this is usually a scene with lots of action happening. -- |

I can highly recommend the Wacom Intuos4 (small) which I bought at some time during this thread. I don't see the point in anything bigger, because you only use a small part of the tablet anyway, and with anything bigger you can't reach your keyboard at the same time. My brother has a full-sized one, and even he prefers using my small.

How do you use the tablet? Here it is mapped to translate to monitor positions, so a tablet with the same aspect ratio as the monitor would make most sense. -- |

Yes, if they don't match then the only sensible thing to do is to have a "dead" area. Trying to draw properly with a stretched aspect ratio is a bad idea. Luckily most monitors these days are very wide (for example, mine is 1920x1080), which fits my little tablet almost perfectly.

I see. I have a Wacom Bamboo and I set it so a strip to the right of the screen can't be reached with it - which can get annoying. Having the dead zone on the tablet instead of on the monitor sound like a better idea though... I must try that. -- |

Well, here's something I did earlier this year for a gladiator-trading simulation game I was working on (that, as usual, got shelved to work on later). {"name":"604816","src":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/e\/e\/ee2a574c2a4d84cc5d9584cc1affcf4d.jpg","w":1248,"h":688,"tn":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/e\/e\/ee2a574c2a4d84cc5d9584cc1affcf4d"} ------------ |
