But to be honest, there were only about 7 or 8 questions I actually knew the answers to. The rest were guesses.

Meh. Way too JRPG-heavy.

Too long
Too RPG and Nintendo based
AFAIK, Pong and Invader are not the first video games. SpaceWar is one of them thought.

According to that test I'm a casual gamer that should stop playing WiiFit and start playing real games... ::) Meanwhile, the majority of those games were either Nintendo games or are older than I am. ::) And everybody knows I'm a PlayStation or PC gamer. Definitely not a very good quiz and far from balanced, but fun nonetheless. I might have taken more time on the questions I didn't know if I wasn't at j0rb.

I'm not the kind of person that plays every game out there though... I only play the best games from my preferred genres. I'd still consider myself a hardcore gamer though. Definitely not a casual gamer. ::)

98%. I missed what should have been an easy one about Ogre Battle... to be fair I did have to guess on the FIFA question because I've never played any of them.

Graphic file formats used to fascinate me, but now I find them rather satanic.

I seems they have more questions than you see, because I didn't see any about FIFA when I did it.

Yeah, 63% for me. The quiz is highly skewed towards the American Nintendo/FPS/RPG crowd. I'll bet there's not a single Commodore Amiga or ZX Spectrum question in there.

I saw a question with those as answers I think.

There is a ZX Spectrum question. It asks what system some game was on, and has a screen shot. I deduced it was the spectrum based on the graphics. Yeah, I'm pretty 1337.

I got two, 1) what sport was not featured in C64 Winter Games and 2) recognize the system of the game in a screenshot. Piece of cake, especially the last one - there's simply no room for mistake with the ugliness that is Spectrum graphical output. ;D There were many questions about silly JRPGs like Final Fantasies, but there was one about an actual RPG too (Fallout 2)!

There was a question about Death Chase, and what system it was released for first. While I had no idea what the game was, the question featured a distincly ZX-Spectrummy screenshot.

I fared a lot worse in the FPS questions, though, so it's Casual Gamer for me too.

Okay, I'm wondering how big of a pool this quiz uses for it's questions, because the only FPS related question I got had to do with the dude from Doom (asking his name).

Not that big, doing it twice 50% of the questions were repeated.

There was also a screen shot of a Gryzor style game that appeared to come from the Amstrad CPC.

A fair few of my answers were guesses.

You're a gamer alright but your commitment isn't as strong as it should be. Order a crate of hotpockets, cut all ties with the outside world and move into your parent's basement a.s.a.p!

To be honest I was expecting it to be a bit harder and I did better than I thought I would. There were questions I used to know (what was the orange ghost's name in Pacman as an example) when I was younger but have since forgot.

Wrong! I got a question about one of your favourite speccy games, 3D DeathChase, and a couple on the 64. It was heavily weighted to US/Nintendo though, but I got all bar 1 Nintendo question wrong.

I got the Doom question, much the same question for Half Life, several about Counter Strike (identifying weapons, naming maps) and at least one about Halo.
