You've probably all seen this, but what the hey: http://www.smalltime.com/dictator.html If you haven't seen it, this thing actually reads your mind (using Allegro 5) and tells you what dictator or sitcom character you are thinking of. If you don't believe it is reading your mind, how about when I tell you that you can't stump it! Or, at least, I couldn't... For a laugh, try answering all yes, or no, for that matter. How do you think it works? My dad thinks it is some sort of lookup based on a set of fixed questions, but I think it is a dichotomous key (tree). BTW, howlong has that link that says, if you want to post about the war been there? -- Ryan Patterson - <http://cgamesplay.com/> |

Interesting... it guessed the first three dictators I threw at it, but it seems to have a problem with Eastern bloc dictators - it didn't know neither Tito nor Ceaucescu. -- |

It utterly failed to find George W. Bush, too. But then again, I may have gotten some of the questions wrong. -- |

You got the questions wrong, because he really is in there! Quote: I win again! You are player number 15 to have chosen George W. Bush from America. I knew you were George W. Bush from America from the start, but I strung you along for a while to make it seem more sporting. I hope that one day you will overcome the powerful sense of humiliation that you now feel. Until then, good luck.

I repeadidy clicked "No !" and got a couple of questions like "do you like just saying no?" and "Will you just say yes just to end this?"

I saw a program+code for the C64 (in a magazine) called Mr. Mysto, that did the same thing. It was relatively short, but very clever. It came with the data required to be able to guess which USA state you chose. This online version appears to have a lot of duplicates ... ie, people entering in the wrong answers at some point. Which, it's actually OK - assuming that it was a tricky question that was answered wrongly. |

CGamesPlay: No, I didn't add them (I think) - I tried, but their server seemed seriously overloaded. -- |

Erm... the test said: Are you a virgen? A what? A Viral Generator? Anyway, it was sortof funny... although I turned out to be someone from some cartoon I'd never heard of... EDIT: hmm... just passed 1337 posts... |
