My desktop, a screenshot taken directly after reading this. I reinstalled windows yesterday, maybe that shows Normally the first thing I do after a fresh install is to remove the annoying shortcut overlays with Tweak UI, but this time they refuse to go away for some reason -- |

I don't use a simple(minimal?) window manager to save ram - well, that's one reason - but the main reason is because it's so much easier and better than all the rest I've seen. Life is so much easier when things are simple. Do I really need silly desktop icons? I'm now using waimea(waimea.sf.net) and it has all the features I need (much more than windows has). Basicly it's all about functionality, efficiency and speed. Not program speed, but work speed. Customability is also key. I got bored so I took another shot:

haha.. I like to keep my desktop clear from as many desktop icons as possible... if that damned AOL 7.0 crap sows on my desktop one more time........... anyway my desktop is kinda bland.. no fancy window skins.. just plain old silver XP.. and on Suse I have IceWm on KDE 3.0 with a marble theme, nothin fancy there either. ___________________________________ |

Ugh... I shouldn't have any wall paper, but this Windows network is fu><0r3d. sometimes my files don't sync, and all the time none of my settings are saved... (probably a windows limitation.. NT server with XP Clients... who knows.. All I know is that I could have done it better with a linux server, and unix/linux clients. [edit] so instead of no wallpapaper I've got the XP telletuby bg..[/edit] -- |
