Are emoticons always supposed to be sperated by spaces?
At the moment, they still display if there is no other text immediately preceeding them, so typing "Hi! :):):)" on a line will display three emoticons, but typing "Hi!:):):)" produces none.
edit (for clarity): The "Hi! :):):)" above (and here) was tampered with to stop it rendering the emoticons.
They must be preceded by whitespace or be the first child. And by design, any time a smiley is inserted, the first child counter is reset.
Why must? It can't possibly be that hard to fix.
Fix what? It's intentional design.

Just because its intentional doesn't mean it isn't annoying and broken
It's so people can type WHAT??? without the emoticon.
It's so people can talk about CGame::Person without it being CGame: erson
And most of the time that'll be in a <code> or <tt> block, so meh.
And <strike>most of the time</strike> that<strike>'ll</strike> should be in a <code> or <tt> block, so meh.
Fixed.
edit: <strike></strike> doesn't work?
<strike>Testing</strike>
That's odd. Using the wiki syntax works, but the HTML strikethroughs don't.
You're silly smileys work in tt blocks too
The help page should say <s>.

Ignore the thread I just made then.

They shouldn't, IMO.
Bug with emoticons: They are missing the alt text now (so they don't copy/paste).

Indeed. Any preformatted block shouldn't allow any fancy formatting. Be it <pre> <tt> or what have you (in <code>'s case, it should only allow code formatting)
It's so people can type WHAT??? without the emoticon.
That's my fault
