3-D game
Shravan

hey friends let's make a 3-D game like GTA or some other and sell it for some bugs. Please anyone come forward with your ideas like characters, game story outline, music and all other prerequisites!!!:D

Vanneto

Well, there's this criminal, he was falsely put in jail for something he did not do. Now he seeks revenge to those who put him there. His name is Ivan Streljarad Vglavo.

Thats my idea, you can use it as you like. Now go make a game!!!!!!11one :o

GullRaDriel

Is it monday in India ? ;D

Make it massively multiplayer, it's always better.

Slartibartfast

Also, comment it well, so once it will be complete it well serve as a code base where you can take from and learn.

BAF

Oh noes, sell the game for bugs? I can come up with enough bugs on my own, no need to have other people give me any. Just ask CGames.

Sol Blast

Heh...
I like your motzy kid :P.

CosmicR

what about a game where you make a game and sell it for bugs?

count

what about a game where you post in a forum about making a game in which you make a game and sell it for bugs?

Shravan

Thanks all of you for your response.
But one thing is that game can't be developed by a single person himself,it requires a team.so what i want to say is let's form a team and move collectively. In this regard i want someone to take the initiative!! :D

In other words, you're too lazy to do it yourself (and/or you have no idea how), so you want everyone else to do it for you?

Not going to happen. Too many people like you have proposed such a thing in the past.

CursedTyrant

And utterly failed, might I add :P

Shravan

It's not like that.Just i need cooperation that's all.Even i can take the initiative but the thing is everyone doesn't think the same way. That's why i said these words.Ideas do not come to us overnight.one proverb is that Rome was not built in day.So i just need sort of ideas which will work

LennyLen

Well, look at it this way - at least once a month, somebody signs up an account and says "Hey, lets make this really cool game. Who's in?" and expects everyone to be really excited about it.

Everyone who has seen it happen over and over just thinks, "Ho hum, is it monday already?" So why should your project do any better? Especially since you haven't even bothered to put in any effort to come up with anything, such as artistic previews, design documents, start up code...

You're right that it takes a lot of effort to get a team together to make a game. Even the most promising team project put together here still hasn't managed to produce a game yet.

So unless you're willing to do more than say "let's make a game," don;t hold your breath waiting for anyone to help you.

Shravan

yeah it's true that i have joined this forum recently but my willingness to develop a game was and is from a long time.Whatever it is,if anyone wants to contribute for the game, the doors are always open. And finally i am a rookie in game development.

Fixed.
Ideas come all the time, there is no shortage on ideas. The thing about Rome is true though.

Many people can have the idea to build something. But it's rare to find someone who actually does it. Though they're not hard to find, these people always get famous.

When it comes to game development, you have to start working on your own. People will join when you have shown that you're making progress with or without help. Especially if you write good code.

ImLeftFooted

The people who can make games are going to make them --- They don't need you.

If you want help from competent game creators you need to attract them with something. Blizzard does it with $$ (and indirect fame), whats your plan?

CosmicR

he could attract them with bugs?

Alianix

you could come up with some code pesticide and patent it that kills all the bugs...then you could hire us for big bucks to spray your code with your codebugspray like 24/7/365 to keep the code bug free...yeeehaaaaaah ! :-/

Shravan

I will come back only after developing some small games.

Does anyone else see the irony in this? :P

I see that I have forgotten more about game development than this guy has learned.

Feels good.

That's not the point... don't take it personal, you are just one more :)

So have you finished developing them, or are you just a liar?

Ben Delacob

I took the original post as a joke at first. XNA makes basic 3d pretty simple. Look into that if you really feel like you need 3d, but you should probably make an 80s style arcade game first if you haven't.

And if that takes too long, push them off a cliff.

Schyfis

Nobody's trying to discourage anyone here. It's just that you have to learn to walk before you can run.

Take Ben's advice and make a few simple games first, just to get an idea of how game development works. My first games were pong and breakout clones. Then I moved on to space shooters, tile-based games, and eventually 3D. We would be glad to help you as you learn how to make games!

You should also write down all the awesome ideas you have. Later you can sort out which are feasible, which suck and which are plain genius. Don't count on remembering them, it will be much later :-/

Great attitude! Game creation is a problem like any other -- it can be solved.

Do, however, prepare yourself for a long journey.

In victory or defeat, a journey without return indeed...

No pain, no gain.

I love all of the catchy phrases in this thread.
