Is there any tracker that is as easy as ProTracker for Amiga was?
I want it really simple. Ideally I would like to start it up and begin creation within a minute of "learning period". That is, with my previous experience using ProTracker. Also, it has to work on Windows XP.

In Windows about the only choice is ModPlug Tracker
EDIT: Apparently there's also Open ModPlug Tracker
I didn't know that!
I downloaded the "Open" version at first. Extracted it to my "Web Downloads" directory and ran it. Then deleted the directory and extracted it to "Program Files" instead.
And now it want's the keyboard settings file from my "Web Downloads" directory. I am currently traversing the registry deleting every key with "ModPlug" in its name.
So a word of warning! Extract it to where you want it before you try it!
I hope it's good once I get it to start..
[edit] The registry deleting worked! It started without complaints now.
This OpenMT has some major improvements in the UI
It looks really nice! Thanks! I just registered myself on The FreeSound Project to download some cool C64 samples. Then it's creation time!
The part that sucks is that there aren't very many good linux trackers. The modplug tut claims there is a modplug linux but the MP site flatout says there isn't one
. Oh well just make music in windows I guess.
ProTracker for Amiga
Oh man, I loved that program. Try WinUAE. I know it runs at least OktaMED properly, and it might just work with ProTracker as well (at least it starts and loads, i'm not 100% sure it will play everything properly).
OktaMED
OctaMED was way over my leage!
Much to complicated. OpenMT was actually quite nice! Not as good as ProTracker but still very good.
Apparently there's also Open ModPlug Tracker
I didn't know that!
How well does it play ITs, and other formats the original murdered? It should use DUMB as the sound rendering engine.
For Linux, there's CheeseTracker (.it) and SoundTracker (.xm). Both have some flaws and both could need a lot of polishing, but both are useable.
I can't remember how many hours of my life I wasted writing songs in the old and nice Protacker, I miss my beloved amiga500:'(
However modplug trackers is a lot better, indeed modplug tracker is the best by far, you can't find anything better than that.
A modplug tracker fan.:P
