Documentation Bug in 4.1.18
Michael Jensen

Just downloaded the latest allegro build for the first time from sourceforge.

the dev-c++ install still has broken links:
http://bloodshed.net/dev/devcpp.htm is not active for one, I'll update this post if I find more.

edit:
errg -- aparently not the lastest, I'm gonna go download 420!

edit2:
nope still broken.

A J

which file has a bug ?

Michael Jensen

mingw32.txt

[edit]Google seems to be wrong also:[/edit]

[disclaimer: for now anyway, and it's that very first link that's wrong... havent checked others yet. I'm sure one of them works /]

[edit2]tucows seems to be hosting it without problems tho [/edit2]

A J

write the fix for it.
and post it.

Michael Jensen

post it where?

it's a broken link... how can I fix that?

A J

fix the text in the mingw32 file.
then post your changes (along with a bunch of surrounding lines) here.
and i might make a patch to get it fixed in CVS.

Michael Jensen

the whole damn section imo needs rewriting... I might just do it. :-/

Documentation sits in allegro/docs/src/. Be sure to edit the relevant file there and not one of the .txt files, as the resulting patch would be mostly useless.

... http://bloodshed.net/dev/devcpp.html is back up -- so I'm saved the trouble anyway... What a pain in the ass....

ugh, shoot me, stupid L, if I didn't know better I'd think it wasn't there before, but only to keep from looking too stupid... ::)
