I just did the most stupid thing in my entire lifetime, I watched an amateur movie from (probably)Chechenia. I want to erase it from my memory but I can't... I'd just like to say that EVERYONE here should stay miles and kilometers away of the infamous [filename deleted] on P2P networks. It's already too late for me, it wasn't fun at all, and I'm feeling exceptionally bad now. I hope it passes tomorrow..........
You're just going to make everyone want to watch it...:-/, or at least me
NO DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Listen to some Mozart. Try his Piano Concerto No. 23 in A Major, K488 - that's my favourite.
[EDIT]
OK, let's dispel the curiosity. It's a very short video (a few seconds) showing a decapitation in gory detail.
There is a lesson here: stick to legal sources of entertainment!
Cheers to those of us that already do
In related news, I do believe cough*ahem was shut down ... you know. wink wink nudge nudge
I don't know, I'm afraid
Is it some guy getting shot or his limbs torn appart? I've never seen it but i've heard of people talk about it.
BP: g*****.
I don't know what you're taling about either....
BTW, how long has Ben's sig been like that? It reminded me that his name was actually Ben, I had started referring to him as Bruce in the forums I think (though I think I refered to him as Ben in my mind).
Is it some guy getting shot or his limbs torn apart?
According to BP, it's somebody getting decapitated. I wouldn't know, since I don't plan on ever watching it.
The "limbs torn apart" footage may be some video of Americans slaughtering Iraqis that has been making the rounds lately.
And if you don't know what I'm talking about up there, so much the better for you
Stalking you is too dangerous 23. I give up.
Yay! I win!!
And if you don't know what I'm talking about up there, so much the better for you
Thanks to gamedev, I know exactly what you're tallking about, and now I'm scared to click on any links in there. Stalking you is too dangerous 23. I give up.
goatse.cx is down, it removed from the net
I'm going to guess that the video was short, and hence when you downloaded this video, you weren't paying attention to neither the filesize nor the video length(I'm assuming you were looking for a video of a decent length). It'll teach you to pay more attention to what you download. Always check:
Filesize
Length
Encoding
of users who have it(that show in the search)
Rating(if you have good P2P like Shareaza
and anything else your P2P software will give you.
It's really quite obvious if it's a bad video especially if it has a messed up filename(not sure what the filename was of this, but I'm sure it hinted at being something bad or curropted).
Oh yea, and BTW, it'll never come out of your mind. Sad to say really, but that's how it works. Anything of that nature(and various other things) just really don't come out unless you lose your memory, which is unlikely and would suck cause you've lost all other memories! So yea...
Hey, look at the bright side - at least you'll have something to blame if you become all fucked up later in life
BTW, how long has Ben's sig been like that?
Just a few days.
I did post the file name after Sakuera deleted it from his post, but then I thought about it. Either someone is very good at special effects, or someone committed murder in order to create the video. If murder was involved, then I wonder how legal its distribution is.
goatse.cx is actually not down. It claims to be down, but then, I can access it. The nasty picture is one click away.
ALERT
The CX Registry has shut off the goatse.cx domain suddenly and without warning.
They have cowardly cited a section of their AUP with allows them to remove sites at their discretion.
Please e-mail info@nic.cx with your opinion of this matter.
The original page (link)
odd that. I get "Unknown Host".
I was able to view the site when using Freeserve's DNS servers (Freeserve being a well-known ISP in the UK). I have just switched to Cambridge's DNS servers (since I'm in Cambridge), and now the host cannot be resolved.
Tomasu and I have tried visiting the IP direct, and we get hick.org.
Matthew just pasted this into #allegro.
It really is gone (hopefully for good) I say good riddence
Thomas: Bah. I guess we'll have to turn to Tubgirl to traumatize people into not blindly clicking links now
[EDIT]
To link or not to link, that is the question...
Ugh. Thanks for reminding me that Tubgirl exists, now I have to go bash my head against the wall repeatedly again.
All I can say is there are times I'm greatful I don't have photographic memory.
Then again, probably many more times I wish I had...::)
Marcello
unfortunetly I have a photogenic memory... It works with pictures.. so when I do remember, I get to see the lovely memories.. cough I'm glad I only got the chance to see tubgirl once... it wasnt enough to burn the image completely into my mind.. UNLIKE GOATSE... >:E
I hope photogenic is the right term.. its not photographic as most people mean it, I dont remember everything...
Hehe...photogenic memory...the only part of your body that is always captured nicely on film is something that you can't see
ah, but I DO SEE it.
Photogenic means something looks good when photographed. Like if someone is pretty they might be photogenic.
Photographic memory should apply to what you said too, there are obviously varying degrees of photographic memory, and I doubt there are any people with perfect photographic memory.
Marcello
ah, well its all good then.
Oh yea, and BTW, it'll never come out of your mind. Sad to say really, but that's how it works. Anything of that nature(and various other things) just really don't come out unless you lose your memory, which is unlikely and would suck cause you've lost all other memories! So yea...
I tend to disagree... The only time I've really felt terrible thanks to the internet was after I saw the web page about the poor girl who was horribly burnt in a car accident. You know the one. That made me ill. I felt nervous travelling by car for some time after that one.
But I got over it. I could probably see the pic again (the burnt one) and not feel a thing. Not that I want to. Since then nothing else has really phased me much....except maybe the dreaded "Pain" series (DON'T ASK).
since you mention them - goatse, tubgirl, they were both just funny to me, nothing that could ever leave a scar on my mind in any way. That .asf was something different. And the only reason why one would want to watch it would be to see what Putin's mafia does in Chechenia.
damage:
Seeing someone who had been burned to deformation isn't what I'm talking about. There are some things that can be burned into your mind that will never come out, even if you never look at another thing like it again. I'm not going to say what these things are, but you probably know.
Now, there are "secondary" images similar to these discussed here, the burnt chick, the decapitation(?), etc. Those are bad, and can also burn into your mind, but unfortuantly(yes unfortuantly) you adjust to these inhumanities, as you said damage.
Since I began using P2P connections, though, I only got one of those videos. Nothing too serious, just a movie of the police searching between below a train, finding head, arms, feet, all around.
But indeed, some images are too strong. My sister got really bad impressed with a train accident.
Apparently nobody has heard of 2chan. Be glad you haven't. I've not seen that video, but on 2chan (from what I remember) is a whole category full of extremely nasty (read: gory) stuff (of which I choose to not describe).
p.s. What's this I hear? Certainly you wouldn't mind this type of content on network television during dinnertime... I mean censorship is such a horrible thing, right?
