Why?

- why can't I click on a forum and scroll through the post? why must I search based on a month or recent?

- why does the forum lock so soon and I can no longer edit?

- why can't make another post in my own thread until someone else posts first?

- why, why, why?

It's very annoying to say the least.

Basically because the forum software is very old and hasn't been updated for a long time. It was also designed and implemented by one person, so he just made it the way he wanted it.

After a while, you get used to the quirks.

The workaround is to add a new section to your previous post, then click on 'Send to Top' to make the thread appear in the list as though there is a new reply.

Actually this forum design is superior to others. It's designed to lessen spam and junk. It's very efficient compared to every other forum software I have ever used.

Why ask why? Dry bud dry.

It's better not to ask questions like "why?" around here... the answers will never make sense, and if they do, ML will probably off you for disclosing trade secrets...

8-)

Consecutive posting is annoying. The implementation is not intuitive, but I stand by the concept.

The other things you mention are mostly a problem because there's not much activity anymore.

And search is broken because the indexing hasn't ran in years. >:(

No worries, thanks for replying. The tips that have been given helps a lot. I'm getting use to operations and the recent thread link tip eases the frustration level as I can look at everything from a glance.
