2015 is just too slow. Is 2013 any better?

How slow is slow? VS2015 works great for me.

I've used both; I don't remember noticing 2015's start up time being slower when I upgraded. However I agree it is pretty painful, though once up and running it's OK for me.

[edit] timed it at 17 seconds from clicking the icon to the blue spinner going away, then maybe another 10 to open a (small) project.

It's pretty painful when you're used to VC++ Express 2008 :-/

But it looks cool with the dark theme, and I believe it supports C++11, so I kind of want to switch. Maybe I'll just use both, the new one only when I need the new features...

It'd be nice if it started faster, but once it's started it performs pretty well imo. I'd recommend VS 2015 because of it's useful features, I would not recommend VS 2013.

VS2015 is only about a 6-8 second startup on my machine at work, on first launch. That's with an SSD, 16 GB RAM and some sort of Core i5.

How slow is slow?

Slow startup at work is time off, I'm using it at home :-*

Do you have a solid state disk? I don't use Visual Studio, but an SSD does wonders for eclipse startup time.

And well, the benefits & etc'.. Kinda good there, I guess.. Norway has the $ to have communism.
