This tool let you determine a single 8 bit (256 colors) palette for use with a bunch of images that has different palettes.
Also, it lets you edit the palette before apply them, or convert several images to a palette that you already have.
Produces very good results and comes with full source code.
Works on DOS, Windows, Linux and more.
Totally free, under the MIT license.
Fixed compilation issues with Linux, cleaner source code, and updated to work with modern times OS.
Very little minor cleanup.
Added a documentation explainin the algorithm.
Still trying to clean up the code (is a mess, was dode really in a hurry, and never intended to be released to the public).
Fixed a bug with Mingw32 compilation.
Cleaned up the project tree and source code; altough still needs more clean up...
Overall improvement of the algorithm.
Now, the images keep the colors very accurate to the original.
Overall Rating: 7.0
- Great tool, can be a real life saver sometimes. It has some bugs though and the UI could be easier to use and a bit less ugly...
- Its good, but why use only 8bit and be boged down by pallets and this kind of hassel? Well maybe you want your game to run on that old 486DX 100MHz and why not?
