In windowed mode artifacts are left on the desktop when the window is moved or when another window is placed on top of it.

Description

When I run make, it says "makefile has modification time in the future".

Are you sure that your system time and date are set correctly? Alternatively you may have downloaded a fresh file made by someone in a more eastern timezone. In the latter case you can either wait a few hours, temporarily set your clock forward, or use a utility such as touch to change the timestamp of the files.
