Hiring and artist.

Hi everyone,

So I've started writing a 2D "casual" game which I intend to sell. Therefore, I'm willing to fork out a little cash to have some professional art created. Depending on the quality of the art, my budget is anywhere between $200 and $800. Where would you guys suggest I start looking for artists?

Thanks for the help.

Your schools art dept. Craigslist. Although senior students are more like to BS you, a professional artist is not as willing to work the type of design you need. Students are more willing to listen instead of "having an ego" so to speak.

You'd be very surprised.

You'd be very surprised.

You gotta find the artist that matches your style though. Like hiring a comic book artist to do sculpture (Even with experience) may prove fatal.

What exactly is the work for Nick?

A professional artist is exactly what I need. I need quality art work on time, and I'm willing to pay for it.

The art involves some simple 2D sprites, one or two backgrounds, and some minimal sprite based animation.

I think a web designer might be better, someone with flash experience. Animators are more expensive, not sure how much but. And thats just something I googled. Im not sure how much time it would take to make what you want. Btw I can't do that. I'm only good with photography, although I used to draw comics 15 years ago, my skills in that have gone to zero since I'm lazy (Hence why I photograph).

Post an offer on Pixeljoint, if you haven't already. There's a dedicated "job offerings" forum.

I did a small project for SonShadowCat on here.

It's included in my portfolio -- the 'Populi Vis'
