So, maybe there IS a new game coming...

It's been 3 months since I started the project, on a really LOW rate of work, but still, the game is getting done.

And I'm really happy that recently a close friend of mine offered to help! So now, the dev team has grown to 2!

I gave him the task of 3d rendering and animation(maybe modeling later). Sent him a model of one low level enemy of the game, and the render pictures so far look great.

(But before you start asking, the game is a 2d side scroller, but supports ANY resolution, so detail is a must on the sprites)

Look what he's been able to pull off:

(Oh, the character has no body... I don't know if these liveforms will need one ;D it's one of the main issues that we're discussing)

Also, a pretty impressive render of the shoes(though I doubt its usefullness in a 2d side scroller, but hell, it might work just nice in a cutscene video)

{"name":"599614","src":"http:\/\/static.allegro.cc\/image\/cache\/f\/6\/f6803578a5c74fd8309754677c8a55c4.jpg","w":1022,"h":764,"tn":"http:\/\/static.allegro.cc\/image\/cache\/f\/6\/f6803578a5c74fd8309754677c8a55c4"}599614

And of course, you're all waiting for a game screenshot... But sorry, the sprites are still the development ones and haven't implemented the renders.

In case you're wondering what's the weird aura about the character, it's its Telekinesis Range.

A short overview of the game's content: It's 2d Side Scroller Platformer with a really strong emphasis on Realistic(depends on the situation 8-)) Physics Puzzle, including lots of eye-candy effects, going from realistic particles, ragdoll animations, dark lighting engine and object shadows. Main character has the ability to use Telekinesis.

The main story... nah, I won't spoil it.. hell, there's no story still ;D but we have some good ideas.

I think I might get working on this more often now that someone has offered help. I have PLENTY of free time(16 years old, hi-school is no problem) to get to it.
Now, I know in the past I've posted many projects here that died horribly(and I suppose many of you suffered the same), BUT, I think this one is the difference, because it's a game I really love, and had much fun with it(I played once for about an hour just tossing a ragdoll in the air).

If you've read all of my rants, then thanks for reading ;D

EDIT: Oh, and before you start wondering, I thought of the game idea myself. If anyone has ever created a really similar game, then it's a game I don't know about, so don't flame the entire topic because of that, ok?

From all that I've read, you have more of a physics engine rather than a game at this point. I think that's been done before.

But on a more related note, good job on getting some progress done! Having a passion for a project is a huge source of motivation, but the really problem is when you run into the drab stuff, liking putting in a user friendly UI. This will sap energy pretty quickly. Move as fast as you can while your riding the wave of high motivation, I say.

Thanks god I actually programmed that by now. It took me almost a month to get motivation to do it.

Congratulations. You've just left high school so you've got oodles of time.

Good luck!

Actually, in my country, we finish hi-school about 17 or 18 years old. I still have this year and another to leave hi-school :'(

Or is my sarcasm detector not working?

Looks look like Prince of Persia, Out of this World. Its nice though, I guess you may enjoy the aesthetics of old school gaming.

Do you have a working prototype to share with us? or a video in youtube?

Good job! The world wasn't seen a good side-scroller in a while! Keep up the good work!
