Not just her either, other friends too. This is more of a rant about etiquette than anything else.

I'm one of the few in my group of friends that has a car, hence when we go somewhere, I pick everybody up and take them. Some of them however are rude turd heads, and think something along the lines of "Oh, the car is here, so I should start getting ready now, even though I just had 15 minutes to get ready, and instead played video games..." -- people are rude.

Seriously, when someone is going to pick you up, you should be ready before they get there, and either be out by the street so you can hop in, or at least be running out the friggin door as they pull up. Not make your good friend, who controls when you ride the bus and when you don't, go up, knock on the door, wait 15 minutes in the burning summer heat, etc...

Anyway, the gf had a good 20 minutes warning, I show up "Dude, I'm not anywhere near ready to go" -- so instead of waiting I just went home, and now I'm gonna code; Yay me. no beach adventures for today (I'm irritable when it's mega hott out, can you tell? )

Everybody's life doesn't revolve around you. They shouldn't have to wait at the door or on the curb for you. It would be rude to shower, dress, etc., when you get there , but I'd say it's otherwise pretty normal to need a couple minutes to get ready.

Women are also notorious for not being ready on time. I like Brad Paisley's outlook on it in Waitin' On A Woman. Women are also notorious for making themselves artificially beautiful, which takes time, as opposed to men who are pretty much as is...

Regardless of her motives for taking her time, it was childish to leave (especially if without warning or explanation).

It could just be that she didn't really want to hang out with you and knew you would leave her.

Your girlfriend must not be very hot if you'd rather leave and code than wait 20 minutes... :o

I don't completely disagree with you though... I just think that either she's worth waiting for or she isn't.

Have you even had a girl friend? If she says "I'm not quite ready", expect to wait an hour. If she says shes not anywhere NEAR ready, It'll be a couple hours.

Most of his songs have that kind of humor. He's awesome.
