In theory, if i wanted to get revenge on an forum, (not allegro)I could go to their forum and coppy the link to their forum banner and then create an signature of it on say 400 accounts on an private forum.

Q's:
1: What would the effect have on the forum?
2: Would copying the Banner Url work, or should I use something else? Is so, what else connected to the forum would work?
3: Also, how should I do it? Does more posts = more bandwidth stolen?
4: Lastly, how ,many post and/or accounts would get the job done?

Thanks!

You need:
2.32421 * 10^12314 * e^π * SIN(23 + 66i)
posts.

Wait, isn't there some Euler in there too? And more importatntly, you can actually create one account, and thanks to Schrödinger, it will steall an infinite amount of bandwidth (provided you give enough slits). Maybe we should measure this in bandwithons, that can be anywhere, all the time... Hmm...

<math>\lceil e^{n \ln(1.6180339897) - \ln(2.2360679775)} - .5 \rceil</math>

where n is the bytes of bandwidth the server can handle per second.

That's so devilish! I don't think I've ever seen anybody try to redeem themselves by bringing the other person's site down. I bet the other person will notice an attack going on and realize that you are the mastermind behind it and even apologize for ever saying that you weren't an asian model.

No, learn how the internet works. Not only will you not sound so immature, you'll also sound less uneducated. And you won't have time to think about ways of getting revenge on someone through their forum.

Well if the posts and accounts were on your forum, infinity.

There has to be like a million better thing to do.. like a game.

and most people WILL find it immature AND your opinion about your own actions doesn't count.

Is it possible for any action of revenge not to be immature?

You could always just put a flaming bag of pooh on their front porch.

You forgot to include <math>pi</math>, to account for the diameter of the wires - the fatter the wire, the more bandwidth one can shovel through.

There has to be a good reason. You don't need revenge. You need to address the issues that got your forum shut down.

Most immature post ever?

I would add the imaginary number. It just seems to fit.

He's trying to steal my forum's stuff. He got his forum's posts deleted because he stole copyrighted content from me.

This guy is no good.

This becomes funnier and funnier :) I guess you both should speak privately, only Matthew (maybe Diana too) can block people.

Copyright infringement is a serious matter, if the forum violated the terms of service, then there is no question about the closure. However, maybe you need to take more time to explain why you consider whatever he did a violation. You see, people never read the terms of service.

Wan't she linking directly to images here and stealing Allegro bandwidth just a few days ago? Could this highly immoral practice have, possibly, been a part of the reason her forum was shut down? Oh, and she's an annoying, immature moron.

I think violation of copyright law is a pretty vaild reason.

Oh, and if you post the URL to any new forums you start here on this forum, I'll personally forward it on to the person you stole content from, so they can make sure you don't do it again.

edit: ok, beaten by a bit there

Inline linking is very common, and virtually used everywhere. However, some sites have protection against it (try to hotlink something from the Something Awful forums, you may get a goatse image instead, if you are lucky!). Some sites like Flickr explicitly allow hot linking as long as you provide a link back to the Flickr page. If this is explicitly forbidden in the TOS, you should not do it.

(Edited: And Possumdude0, don't use personal attacks in discussions. If you can't keep a civilized discussion, leave).

By the way, I checked one of the conversations at the Proboards forum: the To atart with I didn't "Steal" anything. I barrowed from public posts and un the U.S. thats legal. is not true: by default, whenever you write something it is automatically copyrighted to you, even if you don't know or agree with it. Unless you agree with a disclaimer to release your content under public domain, the copyright belongs to the original writer, and copying it is considered a copyright violation, even if it is copied of a forum page.

I have no side here, however the one copied the content is doing copyright violation, like it or not.

Dude if you're putting something on the internet, especially in HTML form, the ideas of creator and owner get extremely blurred.
