Hi all,

I've not been around much lately. I was working on a new shareware game but got burnt out a bit half-way though. Just couldn't see the point in trying Shareware anymore to be honest..

Anyway, I've been hitting the gym since August and although still modest in gains, my new body has been getting a few compliments from the ladies. :D

So, I'll be showing off my bod this Christmas Eve.
Hopefully I'll get back more into some kind of programming in 2006.

Merry Christmas to you all!

Hey, me too! Well, I just started like two weeks ago ;) We'll see about the compliments part when school starts up again.

Slacker. Just go work on the game again, 5 minutes later you'll be absorbed in it.
Or failing that you could always try Internet Marketing! :P

There is no point, unless you enjoy getting paid 50 cents an hour. Even then, it would probably be easier to just move to China and work for Nike.

I'm sure you'll get far more enjoyment from doing just about anything besides programming around the clock - and that includes talking with women. :o

A radical suggestion indeed on a programmers forum! :o

Now what was that galaxy quest quote again: "Never give up, never surrender..."? (yeah right, look who's talking:P)

What's wrong with that, you cannot be closed in your cave forever - I know it from Christmashack ;) Man there's a real world behind the window ;D

Man, I saw about 3 fights kick off outside the pub I was in tonight. It's all kicking off here in the UK. A lot of post work, holiday tension and drinking I guess.

Wish me luck for tomorrow night!

Coding games for free and fun is much better, Rich. You enjoy it more.

So, where was that code for your blended colours you promised everyone ;)

Money isn't the only reward for shareware! Some game company might see it, and make you an offer you can't refuse. Ken Silverman was latched onto by Apogee after he put out a Wolfenstein look-alike... when he was, like, 15 years old! He quit college later because it was interfering with getting rich being a consultant to Apogee and others.

OTOH, he was making the Wolf look alike more for fun than anything else.

They all watch too much MSNBC... they get ideas.

3D Realms bought the Build engine from Ken, he was never hired for more than finishing the engine for duke3d. Apart from 3D Realms and Monolith, i don't believe Ken did ever even see the faces of the developers using his engine. He consulted at 3D Realms, did a couple of trips at Monolith, but that's it. He even sold 3d realms the rights to sublicense the build code. If you ask me, I'd say he got screwed. :)

You don't deserve my sig.
