What do you think about piracy? I do know that it's a stupid question.

You might as well just ask people what they think about stealing. :-/

IMO, it depends :P
If all your games are pirated, that's sorta wrong..
but, if you buy games regularly AND pirate, I don't think it's such a bad thing..

I buy games I know are good, pirate games I think might be.

Heh, just a thought though... is it wrong to buy games, burn backups, and sell the originals? ;)
Recently a friend bought a PS2, and he had a modded PS One, so I traded him my unmodded 9001 model for his so he could trade it in... and I also copied all my games and give the originals to him so he could trade them in for PS2 games ;)

He also gave me about 50 of his "backups", but, uhh, that's another story.. ... .. ;)

Piracy is bad. Last year more then 200 people were killed by pirates.

What a great first impression we make :) Consider it a commentary on how well worn this topic is when we go straight into bad pirate jokes :P

When does the Palladium bashing begin? I'll come back for that ...

My copy of Wolf3D isn't...exactly...NOT-pirated...
Also, I'm a big fan of RPG Maker 2000 (translated and distro'd by some guy for free, when it costs money in Japan)
I tend to have a time limit, where I think before a certain period, the company isn't making money off it anyway/I don't wanna pay $10 for a game like Wolf3D
Oh...Um...you didn't read any of that, 'k?

Neither do I; that's why I don't play it ;)

I think of it this way.
The software companies don't loose any money unless they try to stop piracy.
It's impossible to stop piracy, so they might as well only concentrate on marketing.

I think of it this way: If I see anybody advertising warez, I normally mail the corresponding authority.

If people don't buy the software which is developed, the producer won't be able to pay the monthly cheque for the developer.
